Production Shift Supervisor

Job Summary
Lead a team of 5-7 operators through daily shift routines, setting clear expectations and enforcing safety, environmental, and production regulations. Conduct plant walk-downs and supervisor rounds to identify deficiencies, initiate corrective actions, and ensure compliance with the Epsilyte Life Critical Safety Rules. Direct critical operational activities including unit start-ups, shutdowns, and test runs while facilitating daily crew briefings and preparing shift reports. Coach and mentor employees on performance, recognize individual and team achievements, and facilitate improvements in safety, productivity, and quality. Work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule including weekends and holidays to support site operations at our expandable polystyrene resin facility in Peru, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, OR 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
- Intermediate computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to document
- Able and willing to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
- Willingness to work around chemicals, dust, and other substances; ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots and hearing protection)
- This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing rule or 'TWIC' and requires a successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility
- This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in petrochemical, manufacturing, and/or logistics
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience
