Job Summary
Production Shift Supervisor manages resources on shift to maximize productivity while ensuring safety, adherence to quality, and continuous improvement. Communicates regularly with maintenance, die shop, quality, and scheduling to resolve issues, develops and coaches shift employees on behavior, communication, productivity, and career progression, and leads performance evaluations. Analyzes daily production data to improve productivity and first-time quality, reviews manpower against schedules, manages attendance and timesheet approvals, supports NCR investigations, ensures downtime is tracked in EPICS, and coordinates readiness for the next shift with emphasis on process discipline, housekeeping, and material flow. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and English communication are required; understanding of measurements, tolerances, and blueprints is an asset; extrusion software familiarity (EPICS) is helpful.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years previous leading experience in a technical environment
- Extrusion experience is an asset
- Health and Safety Certification or equivalent an asset
- Effective leadership skills with a focus on operations and people
- Reading blueprints is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
