Job Summary
Set up equipment and inspect parts to blueprints, adjusting machinery as required for efficient production. Verify all necessary paperwork, prints, and fixtures are present at current revision levels before manufacturing. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems while ensuring safe setups and operations throughout the production area. Assist with operator training and ensure appropriate information exchange during shift changes. Follow strict safety policies and report hazards immediately. Work any shift with a base salary range of $21.53 to $30.15 hourly at BTD, a subsidiary of Otter Tail Corporation.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to visualize and interpret blue prints and sketches
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with equipment in the production area
- Ability to adjust accordingly to changing production requirements
- Ability to verify that all necessary paperwork, prints, patterns, or check fixtures are present for a part being set up and that they are to the current revision level
- Ability to manufacture and inspect parts to blue prints and/or sketches using a Manufacturing Print as a reference
- Ability to set up and operate all types and sizes of equipment in the production area in a safe and efficient manner
- Willingness to assist with the training of operators as required
- Ability to ensure setup and production processes are being followed
- Ability to ensure appropriate exchange of information at shift and/or operator change
- Ability to ensure safe setups and operations in the area
- Strictly follows safety policies, rules, and safe work methods
- Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions
- Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment
- Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety
