Job Summary
Production Repair Associate responsible for repairing firefighter uniforms and turnout gear, operating industrial sewing machines to perform stitching, patching, hemming, and reinforcing, and inspecting garments for damage to ensure safety standards are met. The role involves performing repairs and alterations, maintaining accurate records of repairs, prioritizing urgent work with team collaboration, and assisting with inventory management of uniforms and repair supplies. Requires experience in garment repair or industrial sewing, familiarity with heavy-duty fabrics (e.g., Kevlar, Nomex), strong manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay, benefits after 60 days, and a Monday–Friday schedule located in Milwaukee, WI.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in sewing or textiles is a plus
- Proven experience in garment repair, tailoring, or industrial sewing
- Experience with protective gear is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret repair instructions, measurements, and specifications using math skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a desire to meet goals
- Able to maintain regular, punctual attendance
