Production Planner

Job Summary
Allocate special items such as labor, supplies, and tooling to customize manufacturing order; create Manufacturing Orders from a standard bill of materials or from scratch; use Bills of Material with Routing Details through Work Centers to guide shop floor operations; create cost estimates based on unit costs; compare projected manufacturing cost with actual cost; monitor and maintain inventory levels and procurement to keep materials stocked; ensure uninterrupted supply chain and support production with materials; issue internal procurement requests; associate jobs with manufacturing orders for detailed cost analysis; attach files/pictures to work orders for documentation; analyze standard, projected, and actual job costs with performance variances; create detailed manufacturing order pick lists; record scrap from processing; expedite and close work orders; transfer completed items to finished goods inventory; perform other duties as assigned; travel domestically and internationally (~10%); participate in tuition reimbursement and comprehensive benefits; contribute to a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with an MRP/ERP system
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years’ work experience in a production environment
- Time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Technical knowledge and/ or background
- Project Management experience
- Familiar with metric system
- Analytical understanding
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10%)
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain (beneficial)
