Production Planner

Job Summary
Coordinate cutting, processing, and fabrication equipment to meet customer specifications and delivery timelines by reviewing work orders, selecting machines and tooling, and optimizing production sequences. Lay out material, monitor job sets, and finalize outside processing orders while maintaining contract account stock levels and managing material flow. Assist Quality Control with recall information and testing samples, resolve paperwork issues with shop floor personnel, and create stock transfer orders. Balance capacity planning with urgent requirements, maintain Order Changes folders, and back-up shipment lists for large-volume customers. Ensure full compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and the company's 5S/Lean culture.
Required Qualifications
- Related experience, and skill and proficiency in a semi-professional occupation, or a specialized operations function
- Further or on-going vocational training as needed
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office software
- Advanced use of Employer Resource Planning tools
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
