Job Summary
Production Planner role focused on coordinating and optimizing production planning across Ashburton and Christchurch manufacturing sites to improve supply performance, customer service, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include managing and optimizing production planning and scheduling, developing supply plans aligned to demand and inventory targets, driving efficiency and minimizing downtime, leading site supply review meetings and supporting S&OP, identifying and managing supply/demand risks, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining ERP master data (BOMs, routings, planning parameters), providing planning insights and reports for decision-making, and coordinating intersite stock transfers. Requires strong stakeholder engagement across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and customer service, with travel between sites as needed. Technically proficient in Excel and ERP systems, with a focus on achieving daily KPIs and actionable analytics; experience in plastics/FMCG/high-speed manufacturing is preferred. The role offers onboarding and growth opportunities within Aliaxis and may base at Ashburton with an option for Christchurch.
Required Qualifications
- Seasoned experience in supply/production planning or scheduling within the manufacturing industry
- Technically savvy with excellent Excel computer skills and proficient with ERP systems
- APIC or Oliver Wright certification is desirable but not mandatory
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders including customers, and influence and negotiate to get the best outcome
- Demonstrated collaborative style with problem-solving abilities
- Excellent time management and coordination skills with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
