Production Planner/Scheduler

Job Summary
Build and publish daily and weekly production schedules for assigned work centers, verify material availability before releasing work orders, and track completion against schedule. Update plans in real time as performance or downtime requires adjustments, ensure timely MRP transactions, and resolve variances by reviewing daily completed orders. Support inventory accuracy by monitoring material consumption, process RMAs, and coordinate with the materials team on shortages. Identify potential material flow interruptions, follow up on past due orders, and lead daily meetings to prioritize activities and maintain on-time delivery. Communicate job order status to internal customers and develop policies with the Department Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum BA or BS degree or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum two years' production planning, scheduling, and material control experience in a Military/Aerospace/Commercial hybrid environment or comparable equivalent
- Proficiency with computer automated scheduling systems (ERP system)
- Familiar with shop floor scheduling and component issuing/kitting
- Strong understanding of entire flow of production from kit/part pulling to processing finished goods and end customer acceptance
- Supporting production of all materials across a variety of mix/volume product lines
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and guide others effectively to achieve desired outcome
- Objective and analytical oriented/Problem solving skills
- Production shop loading and planning skills
- Fundamental Lean Manufacturing and high-rate production skills
- Proficient Computer skills
- Mechanical Measurement and Instrumentation skills
- Ability to express self clearly in verbal and written form – ability to interface with all levels of staff
- Project Planning and Scheduling skills
- Ability to handle multiple programs and tasks simultaneously and efficiently
- Ability to work in a comprehensive team environment
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt background
- Pre-employment drug/alcohol/background screening is required
