Job Summary
Develop and maintain production schedules for custom machinery projects by translating engineering drawings, BOMs, and project plans into executable production plans. Coordinate with engineering to manage design changes and their impact on schedules while working with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials, components, and sub-assemblies. Balance shop floor capacity, labor availability, and machine utilization to monitor production progress and resolve bottlenecks and constraints. Prioritize work orders and adjust schedules based on changing project demands, supporting make/buy decisions and subcontracting planning. Maintain accurate production data in ERP/MRP systems and communicate schedules, risks, and progress to project managers and leadership. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for workflow and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, wiring, integration)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, project-driven environments
