Production Planner I

Job Summary
Plan, schedule, and coordinate products through the complete production cycle, including master scheduling, material requirements, and shop dispatching. Monitor final approval of assemblies, approve quantities and parts lists, and resolve labor shortages, backlogs, and design change interruptions. Interface with marketing, sales, engineering, and purchasing to ensure material availability and implement Engineering Change Orders. Analyze long lead time parts to develop custom supply solutions and verify system variables against the manufacturing plan. Adhere to quality management, health, safety, and confidentiality policies while navigating a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of SAP or Material Requirements Planning (MRP), planning functions, and shop floor processes and materials
- Ability to effectively interpret and summarize statistical reports
- Excellent judgment and initiative, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
- Excellent understanding of true material lead times for all critical assemblies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, including accurate data entry and experience with PC applications, such as Word (word-processing), Excel (spreadsheet), Power Bi, ad hoc queries, and/or relational databases
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of production planning or material management experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility
- Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with SAP
- College /Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Computer Information Sciences, or Engineering
Desired Qualifications
- SAP a plus
- Prefer MBA or post-graduate degree
- Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or CPM certification
