Production Planner and Customer Service

Job Summary
Manage production scheduling for injection molding and thermoforming machines, coordinate manufacturing orders, and monitor daily adherence to the production plan. Receive customer demand via EDI or email, analyze significant demand changes, and coordinate actions with customers and planning. Control service parts inventory, manage fulfillment to spare parts customers, and document disputes regarding penalties. Verify production lines operate according to established standards, monitor key downtime indicators, and ensure production targets are met. Manage open orders, comply with shipping windows, and notify customers of logistics delays. Participate in physical inventories, stock reconciliations, and improvement activities such as Kaizen and 5S. This Upper-middle management role supports the Materials and Operations Department at Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc.
Required Qualifications
- Industrial Engineer, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years in a similar position
- Strong negotiation skills
- Inventory management and control
- Knowledge of JIT
- Purchasing and customer service practices
- Experience managing service parts or Aftermarket (long life cycles, low volumes, high SKU variety)
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding and thermoforming processes (cycles, tonnage, mold changes)
- Experience in production scheduling based on machine capacity (scheduling/sequencing)
- Capacity balancing
