Job Summary
Pack product or parts into shipping cartons according to operating instructions, adhering to order specifications for labeling, carton selection, and sealing methods. Stack pallets properly using designated skids and perform visual and dimensional quality inspections with hand measurement tools to identify basic issues and make accept/reject decisions based on the Boundary Board. Diligently complete paperwork and packing slips to maintain accurate product counts while learning to run certain lines with or without assistance. Follow good housekeeping practices, report unsafe conditions, and adhere to all safety procedures in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Lift 43 pounds 60 times per shift and climb short ladders as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to read, write, and speak basic English
- Must possess basic mathematic skills including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read and interpret weight measurements on a scale as well as dimension measurements using fractions, decimals, or metric increments
- Must possess strong reasoning ability and actively engage in critical thinking
- Must be willing to take direct orders from the leadership team
- Must be able to cooperate with other co-workers
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment consistently and correctly
- Must be able to lift 43 pounds 60 times per 8 hours shift
- Must be able to lift as much as 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Must be able to safely climb short ladders while carrying these weights
- Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and hand function
