Job Summary
The Production Operator role involves operating production machinery such as mixers, ovens, filling and packaging equipment; setting up equipment per specifications; monitoring production flow and troubleshooting issues. Responsibilities include conducting regular quality checks on materials and finished goods following SOPs and GMPs, adhering to OSHA safety protocols and using PPE, maintaining sanitation of the production area, recording production and inventory data in Redzone, and collaborating with supervisors, technicians, and QA staff. The position requires the ability to work a 1st shift schedule (6:00 AM–2:30 PM), readiness to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the capacity to operate in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment with strong attention to detail and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and GMPs
- Ability to operate production equipment and machinery safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
