Production Operator - Nights

Job Summary
Operator II on the night shift responsible for initial processing of molded plastic pails, including installing components (handles, caps), flame-treating, checking sprue height and other quality checks, performing weight checks, maintaining documentation in the Positive Release System, and conducting final visual inspection before packaging and pallet assembly. Duties include following production schedules, assembling components per customer packaging requirements, performing post-molding operations (gasket installation, fittings, neck flatness), relaying machine or quality issues to the appropriate supervisor, maintaining a clean and stocked work area, and adhering to safety and environmental policies. Requires High School diploma or GED (or equivalent), basic reading/writing, numeric proficiency, and ability to lift up to 50 generally, and up to 200 pounds occasionally; three months related experience or training preferred. This role emphasizes attention to safety, quality, and proper handling of food-grade products.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or GED and three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 200 pounds by hand on conveyor roller system
