Job Summary
Production Operator (Laborer) operates assigned production areas safely and efficiently, performs visual quality inspections, maintains daily housekeeping, reports equipment/process/safety issues to the Shift Foreman, supports continuous plant operations, and assists fellow operators to maintain production flow. Responsibilities include following safety and quality procedures, operating production and mobile equipment (e.g., forklift, man-lift, sweeper, scissor lift), contributing to daily production and safety reports, and participating in weekly safety meetings. Must be able to handle 12-hour shifts with overtime, wear required PPE, and learn to perform basic repairs and tasks such as painting and grounds upkeep to support wallboard production. Emphasis on safety, SOPs, JSA/SDS compliance, and maintaining a hazard-free workplace while producing high-quality wallboard products.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
- Forklift and mobile equipment experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications for mobile equipment operation (forklift, man-lift, sweeper, etc.)
