Job Summary
Set up and start mixing tanks and blenders while pouring powders into mixers up to 55 pounds according to batch tickets. Operate equipment safely including forklifts and manual pallet jacks to move supplies, and perform basic quality control checks on product appearance and package counts. Maintain a disciplined approach to blending results, follow SOPs and GMPs, and complete all batch documentation and paperwork in a timely manner. Manage daily workflow, schedule batching, and perform inventory checks for finished goods and customer materials. Work 8-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment with variable hours, nights, and weekends, maintaining a clean-shaven face for respirator use.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be available for nights, weekends, occasional overtime, and some holidays
- Capable of reading and comprehending documents, scales, and safety manuals in English
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Able to perform these operations using weight and volume measurements
- Must keep a clean-shaven face for proper respirator wear
- Basic math, reading and writing skills
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
- Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, climbing, and reaching
- Able to lift 55 lbs on a regular basis

- Must be able to frequently stand for 85 percent and walk around for 10 percent of shift
- Must be able to work inside and outside and may be exposed to several elements (i.e., dust, noise, extreme cold and heat)
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment

- Must be able to wear PPE such as bump cap, gloves, safety glasses, and safety toe footwear

- Must be able to operate a forklift, manual pallet jack or other equipment to move empty pallets, bags, and other supplies
- Must be able to pour powders into mixer(s) in predetermined quantities up to and including 55 pounds
- Must be able to perform basic quality control checks including measuring, weighing, sealing, package counts and evaluating product or package appearance
- Must be able to communicate with material handlers and packers when materials are needed, and batches are ready to pack
- Must be able to complete all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner
- Must be able to follow SOPs, GMPs, Food Safety, Human Safety, and company policies
- Must be able to maintain a disciplined and methodical approach to each blend being accountable for the results of the produced lot
- Must be able to perform housekeeping in assigned area and in other areas of the plant
- Must be able to set up and start mixing tank(s) and blender(s)
- Must be able to obtain and understand all documentation for making batches. Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch
