Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
• •Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification
• •Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English
• •Ability to write simple correspondence
• •Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
• •Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc.
• •Must be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift
• •Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
• •Good safety and attendance record
• •Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• •Must pass E-verify check
• •Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag
• •Able to pass company physical and all training requirements, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment
• •Able to perform all functions of loading, unloading, packaging, stacking, palletizing, storage, and movement of material
• •Able to utilize tools and equipment as necessary to perform job tasks
• •Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 95% of day
• •Must be able to operate standing & sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks and drum pickers
• •Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to the top of tanks, tankers and rail cars
• •Frequently exposed to outside weather (from 10% to 75% of the time) sometimes in extreme weather conditions
• •Must be able to climb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load
• •Must be able to maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses
• •Must be able to receive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars
• •Must be able to verify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages
• •Must be able to maintain accurate receiving/shipping logs
• •Must be able to pick and stage product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions
• •Must be able to move raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse
• •Must be able to fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations
• •Must be able to give special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items
• •Must be able to operate electronic scale and process devices
• •Must be able to carefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations
• •Must be able to examine stored product and report deterioration and damage
• •Must be able to assist in counting of physical inventory
• •Must be able to ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers
• •Must be able to protect property from theft or damage
• •Must be able to observe, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
• •Must be able to comply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucks
• •Must be able to participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings
• •Must be able to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel

• •Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met
