Job Summary
Operate and manage process equipment to produce blended, diluted, and manufactured final products while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Receive, unload, and prepare liquid and dry chemical products for trucks, tankers, and railcars, including maneuvering hoses, climbing tanks to monitor loads, and inspecting vehicles before and after operations. Mix, blend, and repack materials into proper containers, then stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking. Transport product using powered and manual industrial lift trucks, maintain accurate inventory logs, and handle hazardous waste in full regulatory compliance. Perform physical duties including lifting, standing for long periods, and operating equipment in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to extreme weather.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
- Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc.
- Must be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Good safety and attendance record
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must pass E-verify check
- Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag
- Able to pass company physical and all training requirements, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment
- Able to perform all functions of loading, unloading, packaging, stacking, palletizing, storage, and movement of material
- Able to utilize tools and equipment as necessary to perform job tasks
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 95% of day
- Must be able to operate standing & sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks and drum pickers
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to the top of tanks, tankers and rail cars
- Frequently exposed to outside weather (from 10% to 75% of the time) sometimes in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to climb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load
- Must be able to maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses
- Must be able to receive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars
- Must be able to verify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages
- Must be able to maintain accurate receiving/shipping logs
- Must be able to pick and stage product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions
- Must be able to move raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse
- Must be able to fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations
- Must be able to give special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items
- Must be able to operate electronic scale and process devices
- Must be able to carefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations
- Must be able to examine stored product and report deterioration and damage
- Must be able to assist in counting of physical inventory
- Must be able to ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers
- Must be able to protect property from theft or damage
- Must be able to observe, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
- Must be able to comply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucks
- Must be able to participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings
- Must be able to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met
