Job Summary
Monitor machine centerlines and run off-line converter machines to maintain production efficiency and reduce downtime. Operate sit-down forklifts and tractor/tanker units to transfer finished paper products and package items for transit. Collaborate with the Lead Operator and other departments to meet shipping schedules and resolve process deviations through troubleshooting. Visually inspect operations for abnormalities and report issues immediately. Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements while adhering to all HSE regulations and site procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be okay with rotating shifts (days/nights/evenings rotating every week)
- Must be okay with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb frequently working in elevated areas
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills, including the use of a calculator
- Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to, potentially lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience (is a plus but must be able to become certified)
- Previous chemical/processing experience (is a plus)
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC) Systems experience (is a plus)
