Job Summary
Production Operator at AM General Bristol, IN supporting JLTV A2 Launch and Humvee production. The position is based in the Bristol Logistics Operations Center (203 StoneMont Dr, Bristol, IN 46507) with potential future opportunities at South Bend or Mishawaka. Primary duties include assembling/drilling parts per standardized work, confirming quality, operating equipment safely, and using hand tools, power tools, and torque tools. Requires ability to read instructions, basic computer skills, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must work in a fast-paced environment, maintain attendance and punctuality, and may learn multiple jobs. Shift starts at 5:00 am. Wage offers for new hires are $20.86 (Production Operator), $19.25 (Materials Operator), and $19.25 (Quality Operator).
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work on a contract basis for the first 30 days
- Must be able to read and follow standardized work and job instructions
- Must have basic computer skills
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Communicate effectively with other employees in area
- May be required to learn multiple jobs
- Must be able to use assigned hand tools, power tools, and torque tools
- Shift start time 5:00 am
- Assemble/drill parts in accordance with standardized work and job instructions
- Confirm quality of work performed
- Technical capacity to run equipment within the facility
