Production Operative

Job Summary
Set up machinery, processes, and equipment to enable the safe manufacture of optics throughout the production process. Follow written procedures to ensure the best methods and equipment are used, while taking responsibility for department quality, output, safety, and improvement targets. Clean production equipment and work areas, maintaining a safe environment for precision optical component manufacturing. This role requires reading engineering drawings, applying good manual dexterity, and working to tight deadlines. Overtime is available after 39 hours, with specific multipliers for Sundays and bank holidays.
Required Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and Science (Grade C+)
- Used to working to tight deadlines
- Ability to follow engineering drawings and instructions accurately
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Good manual dexterity skills
- Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required
- Must be able to successfully complete security vetting to the UK government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard
- Must have a criminal record check performed

- Have experience in precision manufacturing
- Confident reading engineering drawings
- Keen eye for detail
- Experience in operation of semi-automated machines
