Job Summary
Production Microscope Soldering Technician responsible for SMT and through-hole hand soldering in a production manufacturing environment, performing soldering, desoldering, and rework of populated PCBs, including fine-pitch components (QFN, BGA) under a microscope. Must read PCB assembly drawings, BOMs, and ECOs, follow assembly/rework procedures, ensure solder joint quality via microscope inspection, and operate soldering irons, hot-air/rework equipment, and related tools. Role requires accurate component alignment under magnification and adherence to PCB processes, with responsibilities expanding to related duties to support production objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with fine-pitch soldering using a microscope
- Demonstrated experience reworking populated PCBs, including multi-pin and area-array components (e.g., BGAs, QFNs)
- Strong manual dexterity with excellent speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including blueprints, schematics, ECOs, and BOMs
- Comfortable performing microscope-based soldering and rework for extended periods
- Solid understanding of PCB assembly, rework processes, and electronic manufacturing practices
