Job Summary
Lead production areas to process products on-schedule, within quality standards, and meet cost objectives. Direct activities by establishing priorities, coordinating problem resolution for equipment failures, and managing staffing and training for direct reports. Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production records while conducting performance reviews to assess competency and development needs. Initiate production projects, formulate operations policies, and monitor inventory of chemicals and supplies. Enforce safety, health, environmental, and food/feed policies, ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Communicate regularly with internal and external personnel to ensure consistent operation across shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering or business administration, or a 4-year degree in related discipline
- 3- 5 years
- In-depth knowledge of the production processes and technology
- A minimum of 3 years' experience supervising others in a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer
- Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and senior level management
- Proficiently working with various software programs
- Ability to maintain good attendance habits
- Abide by all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Abide by company's safety, quality, environmental and HR policies at all times
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit
- Occasionally required to climb to levels of 125 feet or more, confined, and harnessed. Use of stairs and ladders may be required
- Occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more
- Operate in an office and production environment
- Production environment could include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration
- The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- The noise level in the production environment is usually very loud
- This position requires use of a respirator
