Job Summary
The Production Manager or Operations Manager will be part of the Site Leadership team, providing technical expertise and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Responsibilities include reviewing production orders, preparing operational schedules, coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure product quality, and participating in the preparation of the annual plant budget. The role involves identifying improvement projects for cost reduction and process efficiency, engaging in safety, health, and environmental programs, developing and motivating employees, and conducting performance appraisals.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (Chemical preferred)
- 7+ years of chemical plant operations experience
- 3+ years of Operations Management experience
- Experience in and responsibility for PSM
- Track record in continuous improvement
- Technical/Engineering/Quality Manager experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen methodologies
- Experience in medium to large, world class chemical companies
- Union experience
- Strong conflict management skills
