Job Summary
Lead daily production operations for transformer and switchgear departments through direct supervision of production leadership and execution of weekly schedules to meet customer commitments. Evaluate labor availability, materials, and equipment readiness while monitoring performance, communicating resource needs, and implementing corrective actions for quality issues and failures. Coach and mentor production supervisors, support recruiting and succession planning, and foster a safety-focused culture compliant with OSHA regulations and 5S principles. Manage production costs by tracking labor utilization, inventory, and scrap, while collaborating with engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure successful project execution. Track key performance indicators including efficiency, on-time delivery, and throughput to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing, production, or industrial operations leadership experience
- Experience supervising production supervisors, department managers, or manufacturing teams
- Strong background in production planning, scheduling, inventory management, quality systems, cost control, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and 5S manufacturing principles
- Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution, and employee development skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and operational documentation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining production schedules and customer commitments
- Ability to work in both office and industrial manufacturing environments
- Frequent walking throughout production facilities, warehouses, and shop areas
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally climb stairs, bend, kneel, or reach as required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in production areas
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within transformer, switchgear, electrical distribution equipment, power systems, equipment remanufacturing, or a related heavy industrial manufacturing environment
