Job Summary
Lead wire harness and PCBA manufacturing operations by hiring, training, and leading teams of assemblers and rework technicians while designing facility layouts and tooling for high-volume IPC Class 3 production. Implement documented processes for cutting, crimping, soldering, and testing, and own the rework, repair, and reprocessing of PCBAs that fail inspection to drive down failure modes. Drive daily manufacturing schedules to meet delivery milestones, manage digital production flow within Odoo with 100% accuracy, and enforce rigorous QA/QC protocols alongside the Quality Manager. Bridge gaps between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to resolve bottlenecks and implement DFM/DFA feedback in real time. This onsite role in Austin, TX requires transitioning to the Pflugerville facility in Q3/Q4 2026.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in manufacturing or production management
- specifically with wire harness/cable assembly and/or PCBA manufacturing and rework
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (harness)
- IPC-7711/7721 & J-STD-001 (PCBA rework)
- IPC Class 3 experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, a related field, or equivalent years of experience
Desired Qualifications
- CIS/CIT certification
- Deep experience with ERP systems (Odoo highly preferred)
- Startup Scaling experience taking a production floor from hand-built prototypes to standardized, high-volume, Class 3 output
- Defense Industry Knowledge understanding of rigors required for hardware deployed to the tactical edge, including relevant quality and traceability expectations
- IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) or Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) credentials
- Practical application of lean manufacturing principles without the corporate bureaucracy
