Job Summary

Manage general day-to-day operations of the Production Department by collaborating with the Director of Production, union crews, vendors, and backstage technical staff to execute assigned events from pre-production through settlement. Exercise independent judgment to identify technical needs, create crew schedules, track budgets, and coordinate logistics including purchase orders, ground transportation, and hospitality. Perform production and stage manager roles for shows at the Dr. Phillips Center and Seneff Arts Plaza, organizing dressing rooms, rehearsals, and catering while ensuring compliance with union agreements, OSHA standards, and organizational policies. Prepare correspondence, staging sheets, and settlement reports; recruit, schedule, and supervise team members for efficient departmental operation. Work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in General/Theater Production
  • Minimum of 3 years of live theater stage management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of management/supervisory experience
  • In-depth knowledge of production areas in the theater, concert industry and events
  • Practical knowledge of event management, timekeeping or scheduling software
  • Ability to stage and successfully manage a wide range of events in theaters of 250 to 2,700 seats, event rooms and outdoor spaces
  • Ability to exercise creativity, initiative and good judgment in the handling of all internal and external customers including the ability to work well under pressure maintaining a consistent and polite attitude
  • Ability to communicate in a manner that is effective, efficient and friendly in order to represent the arts center in the best possible manner
  • Skilled in Windows based programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to work at heights and climb ladders as required
  • Ability to work in dark or low-light environments

  • Bachelor's degree in General/Theater Production preferred
