Job Summary
Direct the overall production operational strategies to support Daybreak Food’s business objectives. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the production department and coordinate animal welfare documentation and compliance requirements. Manage animal husbandry and flock management to ensure the birds’ needs are met, including daily inspections of barns. Create and implement policies and procedures, oversee purchasing, departmental budget, labor hours, and inventory control. Coach, train, and develop staff; conduct performance appraisals; respond to issues; coordinate safety programs and training; participate in departmental and companywide inspections and reporting. Maintain records for internal animal welfare auditing, compost, wetlands, and lagoons; coordinate third-party testing; ensure regulatory standards are met. Communicate with nutritionist and feed mill; generate reports; monitor feed deliveries and safe feed/food programs. Stand and walk as part of physical demands; work in an environment with moving parts and variable temperatures. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and relevant certificates (e.g., CLM and Mortality Composting Certificates) with 2–5 years of poultry/farm management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in business management, poultry science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Two to Five years of experience working in an animal farming operation
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities related to leadership, communication, training, and safety as described in the posting
