Job Summary
Production Management Trainee in Silgan’s Development Program to build skills in supervising daily production, managing processes across union and nonunion plants, and coordinating equipment management. Program spans ~8–10 months and includes applying statistical process methods and basic quality tools (diagrams, flow charts, run charts, control charts) to optimize throughput while adhering to safety procedures. Leadership development through staff supervision, training, and labor-relations support; exposure to multiple plant locations with opportunities for advancement into operations supervision, manufacturing management, and plant leadership. Strong communication, organization, and coaching abilities are required to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred
- Two or more years of experience in manufacturing or production operations (setup, troubleshooting, maintenance)
- One or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
