Production Management Trainee - Maryland

Job Summary

Conduct daily production planning and supervise machine operators across multiple centers while rotating through key departments to master manufacturing processes. Monitor production schedules to meet delivery deadlines, analyze data for cost-saving trends, and lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to reduce downtime. Manage teams of skilled operators, allocate resources, and maintain strict safety and quality standards on the floor. Participate in daily production meetings and provide performance feedback to enhance work output. Full-time, Monday through Friday with a core schedule of 5:00am to 3:00pm and 5:00am to 9:00am, with overtime required.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Admin, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and MOSH safety standards in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, WMS, or order management systems for data tracking and reporting
  • To be successful in this position, you must be willing to make a commitment of time and effort to become part of a team producing quality specialized packaging in a safe, drug free environment
  • All positions require the ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Core schedule for this this salaried exempt position is Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:00pm and Friday 5:00am to 9:00am

Desired Qualifications

  • Supervise all manufacturing activities in accordance with company policies and guidelines with regards to safety, quality and productivity
  • Ability to manage and develop a team of skilled machine operators and assistant machine operators
  • Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer focus, providing exceptional customer service
  • Familiarity with manufacturing concepts such as Lean, Kaizen, or 5S/6S
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several different projects simultaneously
  • Experience with evaluating subordinate performance and provide feedback to enhance work performance
