Job Summary
Operate and maintain multiple machines on production lines to ensure products meet customer specifications while adhering to food safety and GMP standards. Setup machinery with proper ingredient application, troubleshoot equipment issues, and record downtime using handheld devices. Break down machinery at shift end and maintain sanitary conditions. Adjust production for efficiency, follow Standard Operating Procedures, and notify management of safety or quality concerns. Perform required housekeeping and wear assigned PPE. Provide coverage for Machine Operator I & II during breaks or absences. Work in a fast-paced, hot environment with moving equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school, GED, or equivalent
- 18 months of food manufacturing or packaging experience
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work overtime when scheduled
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to write and read standard information to fill out company documents
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including but not limited to pounds, ounces, and grams, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and temperatures
- Ability to manage and operate multiple lines
- Implement and adhere to necessary safety precautions
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions from the Shift Supervisor
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must be able to wear hearing protection
