Job Summary
Production Machine Operator I (2nd Shift) will mix raw materials per formula, batch ingredients, and package or palletize for shipping. Shift: Monday-Friday, 1:42 pm-10:12 pm; weekends as needed; overtime per UFCW contract. Responsibilities include ensuring product specifications, food safety and regulatory compliance; maintaining GMPs and housekeeping; operating computer systems in production; communicating quality or safety issues to lead/supervisor; training new team members; adhering to SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs; and supporting Dawn Values. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED preferred, ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, communicate effectively, math skills, and forklift certification or ability to obtain it; forklift experience, GMP/food-safety knowledge, and teamwork capabilities. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Forklift certified is helpful, and must be able to become certified
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow team members
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problem-solving in variable situations
- Must be able to work well with others or independently
- Demonstrate knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP-like requirements, and food safety standards
