Production Line Operator

Job Summary
Review design details, pull orders and raw materials, and set up assigned processes per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Perform break-downs of ribbon and dye components, clean with approved chemicals, and document daily production reports. Complete quality check points to reduce rework, load and unload fiber bobbins and reels using approved tools, and monitor the unitize process for defects. Execute daily Preventative Maintenance duties and maintain a clean, safe work environment by identifying hazards. Work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, weekends, and holidays. Achieve required on-the-job training and pass certification within the probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mathematic skills-adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and basic percentages.
- Basic computer utilization skills.
- Ability to learn and comprehend written instructions. (daily operations tasks, and hazardous materials handling).
- Ability to utilize hand tools in compliance with all safety guidelines.
- Able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays. (2-2-3 schedule).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Tactful and professional manner.
- Ability to reflect and uphold company mission, vision, and values in daily conduct.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with manufacturing, plastic extrusion, fiber optic cables, or electronics.
- Experience working with Continuous Improvement (CI), or Lean processes.
- Lean or CI certifications.
- Previous SAP experience.
- Forklift / Certification experience.
