Job Summary
Coordinate daily production activities, oversee work assignments, and perform Level 1, 2, and 3 operator functions as needed. Accurately prepare and process reports, maintain Machine Data Transducer expertise for job scheduling, and complete daily shift reports. Ensure operators follow QC line inspection requirements, verify checklists, and document quality control testing results. Assist with operator training and cover breaks or lunch shifts. Comply with EHS policies, report unsafe conditions, and enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures while adhering to GMP, IPC, and SQF standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
- Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment
- Ability to take direction and understand written documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
- Ability to understand simple mathematics, using addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals
- Knowledge of metric system
- Computer experience
- Must maintain consistent and regular attendance
- Must be able to perform each essential functions/duty satisfactorily
- Must be able to perform the functions of Production Operator level 1, 2 & 3 positions
- Must be able to fill in for shift supervision as needed
- Must be able to effectively coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities or work assignments
- Must be able to problem solve
- Must be able to train employees
- Must be able to assign, direct and check work
- Must be able to address minor complaints and communicate information to management
- Must be able to accurately prepare, input and process various reports, paperwork or other administrative duties in a timely manner
- Must maintain expertise in Machine Data Transducer (MDT) for scheduling/deletion of jobs and completion of shift reports
- Must be able to cover for breaks and lunch of the operators, if needed
- Must be able to complete daily shift reports
- Must be able to ensure operators are properly completing operator checklists
- Must be able to ensure production operators and machine operators are properly performing QC line inspection requirements
- Must be able to document results of quality control testing to correct process and material issues
- Must be able to assist with the training of operators or packers when needed
- Must comply with EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements
- Must be able to prompt report any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision
- Must be able to resolve potential hazards swiftly
- Must be able to attend scheduled EHS trainings
- Must be able to actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals
- Must be able to identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements
- Must demonstrate safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Must ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures
- Must follow Product Safety and Quality standards
- Must follow GMP's regarding food contact packaging
- Must follow IPC product defense standards and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements
