Job Summary

Lead the evening shift production team by supervising daily work, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics, and conducting shift start-up stand-up meetings. Enforce safety policies, model a 'safety first' culture, and lead on safety contacts, near misses, and root cause analysis to prevent future breakdowns. Accept and pass high-quality product while minimizing cost of poor quality through training and improvement. Communicate daily with all levels of employees regarding production metrics, on-going training, and individual team achievements. Maintain housekeeping, monitor equipment condition, and plan downtime for repairs to ensure products are manufactured on schedule and within objectives. Work in both indoor and outdoor environments wearing required PPE, with a starting wage of $30.21/hr plus shift differential.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Four years of leadership experience (ideally in an industrial and/or manufacturing setting)
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced working environment
  • Knowledge of all varieties of machines and fabrication
  • General knowledge and experience in the assigned area
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude including ability to read micrometers, flatness and radius gauges, tape measures, and if applicable based on location, blueprints
  • Ability to be Valmont trained and certified in operation of forklift and, if applicable based on location, overhead crane
  • Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift up to 20 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • Four plus years' experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
  • Six Sigma certification and/or training
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
  • A strong working knowledge of IFS Working Environment
