Production Lead – Creative Studio Operations

Job Summary
Translate approved creative briefs into production plans, schedules, and task assignments while coordinating an international network of freelance compositors, VFX supervisors, and 3D generalists. Organize regular project check-ins, monitor progress, and maintain calendars, trackers, and budgets to ensure work meets quality expectations and deadlines. Identify scheduling conflicts and delivery risks early, manage project files with strict version control, and review submissions against approved briefs before final delivery. Provide day-to-day guidance to freelancers and assist with onboarding additional talent as the studio expands. This role begins as an individual-contributor position within a newly established VFX studio in Sofia, Bulgaria, with potential to evolve into a broader studio-operations leadership role.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in production coordination, project administration, production management, line production or a comparable operational role
- Experience coordinating freelancers, subcontractors, vendors or external creative teams
- Strong administrative ability, including scheduling, documentation, follow-up and deadline management
- The confidence to coordinate people who may be more technically specialized or senior than you
- The ability to communicate feedback clearly, diplomatically and firmly
- Good judgment when deciding which issues can be resolved independently and which require escalation
- The ability to manage several priorities and projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding files, versions, deadlines and approved briefs
- Confidence working remotely with international teams across different time zones
- Fluent written and spoken English
Desired Qualifications
- Some familiarity with VFX, animation, post-production or digital-content workflows
- Interest in learning the terminology and understanding how different creative specialists contribute to a finished project
- Awareness of the workflow of Nuke, a professional compositing, editorial and review platform
- Coordinating creative or technical freelance teams
- Managing production schedules and project budgets
- Working with remote international teams
- Reviewing creative work against an approved brief
- Experience with project-management or production-tracking systems
- Familiarity with VFX, compositing, animation or 3D-production terminology
- Experience helping a small company establish new procedures and workflows
- Exposure to out-of-home advertising, installations, projection or experiential media
