Job Summary
Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding. Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck. Clean and scrape metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping. Pick up and truck scrap from work areas. Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment. Pass the tacking test on Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead positions. Adhere to all safety rules and PPE requirements. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 12 months of experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 12 months experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Pass the tacking test on the following positions: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead
- Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
