Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and supervise up to 25 personnel in production, equipment repair, and yard work. Accomplish manufacturing goals by communicating expectations, coaching staff, and enforcing safety protocols and PPE usage. Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, scheduling assignments, and resolving operational issues to minimize downtime. Ensure inventory control and a clean work environment while reporting shift production summaries. Implement management programs related to safety, employee relations, and production efficiencies. This 2nd Shift role supports Scotts Miracle-Gro's manufacturing operations in Imlay City, MI, focusing on operational excellence and team development.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Proven ability to supervise, coach, and direct the work of others
- Experience managing processes and implementing process improvements
- Ability to ensure housekeeping and organization standards are maintained
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Understanding of safety protocols
- Commitment to a safe work environment
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to conduct regular team feedback and coaching
- Ability to resolve conflict
