Job Summary
Full-time Production Flight Test Level II role for Teal Drones focusing on the testing, evaluation, and demonstration of sUAS platforms. Collaborates with manufacturing, engineers, and pilots to ensure UAS systems meet customer requirements while adhering to FAA regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities include pre-flight inspections, flight testing, data recording/analysis, maintaining visual line of sight, and providing feedback for system improvements; requires strong technical UAS knowledge, FAA Part 107 certification, and ability to work in shifts with travel as needed; bachelor’s degree preferred for advanced qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years drone industry experience
- 25 documented hours as PIC
- Part 107- FAA Remote Pilot Certificate
- Experience with sUAS platforms, including multi-rotor aircraft or an external pilot from a fixed-wing UAS
- Strong technical knowledge of UAS systems and associated equipment
- Must be able to maintain visual line of sight of UAS up to 1 kilometer away
- Must be willing to work any shift, and overtime as needed
- Two shift availabilities: Morning 6:00AM-2:30PM MST; Swing 10:00AM-6:30PM MST
- Ability to travel as required (less than 10%)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (qualification pursued as desirable)
- Minimum of two years of experience as a UAS professional pilot or Military experience (desired)
- Experience with PX4, Ardupilot, Mavlink, QGroundControl, and ATAK (desired)
- Experience with Atlassian-based products such as Jira and Confluence (desired)
- Familiarity with FAA Drone Zone, LAANC, Drone NOTAMs, and Waivers (desired)
- Experience with fixed wing drones and FPV drones (desired)
- Background check required
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence and export-control considerations may apply (ITAR/EAR)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work in outdoor environments
