Job Summary
General Laborer/Fabricator responsible for producing/preparing plastic piping components and fittings per customer orders. Duties include cutting plastic piping materials with various saws, drilling and grinding plastic materials, applying PVC primer and adhesive, assembling fittings, setting up and operating shop equipment (ring saw, band saws, jigsaws, routers, hydraulic presses, grinders, etc.), inspecting materials for quality, and performing housekeeping. Requires ability to read production work orders and drawings, understand imperial measurements, maintain PPE and safety practices, and stand for long periods while handling up to 50 lbs. Emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement across a North America-based manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Basic math skills, including geometry, fractions, angles
- Read and understand imperial measurements
- Read sketches and simple drafted drawings
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
- Comprehend production work orders and travelers
- Mechanical Experience a big plus
- Ability to perform physical labor of up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods
- Good understanding of safety measures
