Production Engineer – UAV Platform

Job Summary
Assemble, test, and iterate UAV prototypes and subsystems hands-on while driving DFM/DFA efforts with R&D to ensure designs are buildable and production-ready. Define materials, processes, and assembly methods balancing performance, weight, cost, and scalability. Establish production standards through assembly documentation, test procedures, and quality checkpoints. Hunt down failures by performing root-cause analysis and enforcing design improvements across mechanical and integrated systems. Validate components under pressure via structural, functional, and environmental testing. This role bridges R&D and manufacturing to shape how defense systems are produced and deployed at scale.
Required Qualifications
- Proven, hands-on experience in manufacturing, R&D, or production engineering
- Ideally within aerospace, robotics, UAVs, or complex electromechanical systems
- Systems-level understanding of how complex electromechanical systems come together
- Ability to independently evaluate and decide on manufacturing approaches
- Ability to spot when a design will fail in production
- Strong in SolidWorks (or similar) for 3D modeling, technical drawings, and tolerance analysis
- Hands-on, build-first mindset with comfort with tools, prototyping, QC processes, and lean manufacturing principles
- Eligible for NATO or EU security clearance
- English language skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with UAV, drone or small aerospace platforms
- Knowledge of composites, lightweight structures, or advanced materials
- Background in testing, validation or rapid prototyping (e.g.3Dprinting)
- German language skills
