Production Engineer

Job Summary

Evaluate current and proposed production processes, create process and production preparation plans, and implement design or process changes to improve manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity. Assist with new product development, supervise supplier selection for tools and equipment, and troubleshoot daily production and quality problems while monitoring data for systemic improvements. Conduct trial manufacturing procedures, coach team members, and develop reports to support team growth. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering and 1–3 years of manufacturing experience in automotive components.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering or related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of mechanical engineering, materials and steel fabrication methods including but not limited to stamping, forming, welding, and painting
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of the industrial equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good math skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information in verbal and written English
  • Ability to read component, assembly and equipment drawings
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency with ACAD or similar
  • Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Internet, etc.)
  • Ability to program production machines and equipment
  • Manufacturing experience (1~3 years) in automotive components (e.g., stamping, assembly, tooling, welding, and other miscellaneous components), managing projects from design to production
  • Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
  • Ability to function both independently and with good judgment in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work efficiently within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations in a calm manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment to support demanding automotive customer requirements
  • Less than 5% travel
