Job Summary
Monitor daily production for high-volume chemical manufacturing processes, identifying routine issues and implementing corrective actions within defined authority. Ensure all assigned activities follow written procedures while conducting hazard assessments, risk reviews, and root cause investigations into quality nonconformances. Document procedures including SOPs, work instructions, and Control Plans; verify batch records and generate Engineering Change Notices for process modifications. Analyze statistical process control performance and trend alerts using data from production systems and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Support scale-up and commissioning of new systems, provide guidance to entry-level staff, and lead technical responses to customer complaints.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Chemical Engineering or related field
- 1–2 years' experience in high volume chemical manufacturing
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, SPC, FMEAs, MOC, ECNs, and technical drawings and standards
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to moderately complex problems
- Demonstrated innovative thinking and scientific/engineering approach to solve product development and manufacturing problems
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills for Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, JMP or other statistical software packages
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and statistical analysis of data
- Familiarity with JMP statistical software
- Ability to work with process and quality data from control systems and LIMS
- Strong troubleshooting skills for routine manufacturing issues
- Demonstrated abilities to work independently with moderate supervision and as a team
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, bend, climb and reach
- Must have a valid drivers' license and clean driving record, if required by site policy
Desired Qualifications
- other technical disciplines with experience in automation, chemical manufacturing, or semiconductor manufacturing
- Familiarity with JMP statistical software is preferred but not required
