Production Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and quality at the Caliper machining manufacturing site. Solve major engineering quality issues, investigate process risks via PFMEA, and implement corrective actions to maintain process control. Lead 5S improvements, standardize line operations with documentation, and conduct production line try-outs for new models or modifications. Optimize machining processes to increase first-pass yield, support new part development by reviewing engineering drawings, and train operators on basic line operations. Manage process variation through quality report reviews and promote cost-saving opportunities while maintaining effective communication to assure MCA success.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of GD&T for machining drawing
- Basic knowledge for Cutting tool and Cutting conditions at Machining Field
- Comprehensive Understanding of CNC program
- Understanding of Industrial Robot (6 axis or multi axis)
- Ability to train operators on basic line operation to achieve efficiency goals
- Ability to draw Jig and fixture
- Understanding of Gage system
- Proficient in Microsoft excel and word
- Proficient in Auto cad
- Able to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed
- Applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- PPE and safety shoes are required in the machining manufacturing environment
- Requires prolonged standing and walking in a manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred 6 Sigma experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab etc
- Proficient in Autocad and Analysis in Geometric tolerance
- Proficient in Software Programing and Comprehension
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Results oriented with strong problem solving/analytical skills
- Excellent judgment (creative, problem-solver, sound decision maker)
- Great planning skills
