Job Summary
Lead Albuquerque-based manufacturing operations to deliver hypersonic capability at scale, building and leading a world-class manufacturing operation (250+ staff) from prototype to high-volume production. Drive strategy to scale solid rocket motor manufacturing, integration, and testing; implement and refine MES/ERP/PLM and other production software; optimize yield, throughput, cost, and reliability; manage day-to-day operations, capacity planning, inventory and supply-chain coordination, and facilities/equipment management. Establish KPIs and a culture of safety, quality, speed, and continuous improvement; mentor and develop a cross-functional team across production, quality, supply-chain and engineering; communicate effectively with regulators, suppliers, and customers. Preferred exposure to aerospace manufacturing standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and energy/propellants systems; leadership experience in fast-paced defense startups.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- 10+ years in production/manufacturing operations or manufacturing engineering
- 5+ years in production/operations leadership
- Demonstrated success in scaling a production operation from development/prototype to high volume production
- Deep understanding of high-precision, complex aerospace hardware production including metallic and composite fabrication, machining/welding/additive, tight-tolerance assembly, avionics, testing and acceptance, and NDE
- Skilled at interpreting raw data, identifying trends or anomalies, and translating findings into clear, data-informed strategies
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
