Job Summary
Direct and coordinate production department activities, including scheduling, materials management, and preventive maintenance. Ensure the crew produces top-quality products safely by monitoring work quality, instructing on proper methods, and taking immediate remedial action for defects. Review work orders to verify equipment and material availability, then coordinate staffing and schedule operators to meet customer needs and maximize efficiency. Counsel employees on safe work practices and manage resources to satisfy production demands while adhering to safety standards and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, rates and percentage
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and hear
- Ability to frequently stand and walk
- Ability to occasionally sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Ability to be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- Ability to tolerate a noise level in the work environment that is usually very loud
