Production Coordinator - 1st Shift (Welding)

Job Summary
Lead the Weld Department team of 20 to 40 associates on the 1st shift (Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm) by enforcing safety policies, tracking injury metrics, and applying root cause analysis to prevent operational delays. Manage the Weld Department budget, review production reports, and coordinate manufacturing plans to ensure optimal utilization of resources while maintaining quality standards and cycle time expectations. Supervise Team Leaders, conduct daily audits of process flow and training compliance, and mentor staff to drive technical advancement and high-performance team culture. Communicate daily SMQCD results at start-up meetings, resolve operational issues, and implement best practices to meet all established cost, quality, and delivery commitments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Twelve to thirty-six months related experience
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent to draw and interpret mathematical data and graphs
- Possess skills to communicate with associates, management team, other department managers and senior management
- Strong communication skills to provide direction and motivation to team members
- Able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in identifying defects and solving problems with equipment and process to avoid missed quality, delivery or safety concerns
- Able to operate with basic computer skills, including preparing memos and responding to emails
- Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
