Production Control Management Support (Welding Scheduler) - 1st Shift

Job Summary

Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly weld shop production schedules to maximize efficiency and meet delivery commitments. Coordinate production requirements based on customer demand, inventory levels, and capacity while monitoring progress to minimize downtime. Release production orders, prioritize work, and collaborate with supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints. Monitor material availability, track key metrics like schedule adherence and equipment utilization, and communicate changes promptly to production, warehouse, and customer service teams. Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems and ensure compliance with safety policies and quality standards. Work Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of production scheduling or production control experience in an automotive manufacturing environment along with HS Diploma
  • Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and inventory management
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, QAD, or similar)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Occasionally walking throughout the production floor
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the shop floor

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with robotic welding, resistance welding, or metal fabrication processes is preferred
  • Understanding of automotive production systems and Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality standards
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
