Job Summary
Sanitation specialist responsible for keeping the Abbott Sturgis, MI plant clean and free from contamination. Responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing processing and production equipment and areas to meet sanitation standards, following approved cleaning processes and SOPs, coordinating with the maintenance team to align cleaning schedules, preventing cross-contamination of product and packaging, maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies, completing required sanitation documentation, and adhering to GMPs, safety policies, and FDA/OSHA/Abbott policies. Requires use of PPE and handling of cleaning chemicals; eligible to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to follow GMPs, Food Safety, and EHS SOPs per assignments
- Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in safe manner
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push and/or pull up to 100 lbs
- Properly, accurately, and legibly complete required documentation
- Ability to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision
