Production Chemist II

Job Summary
Execute air-sensitive chemical reactions, purifications, distillations, and extractions using reactor systems up to 72L. Prepare, transfer, and fill customer containers and canisters with air-sensitive products while accurately documenting all work in batch records and logs per GDP. Charge materials into reactors, monitor progress, and perform routine equipment maintenance and preventive checks. Troubleshoot basic equipment issues, participate in audits and safety investigations, and ensure proper chemical waste disposal. Operate independently on routine production activities while supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field
- High School Diploma with 5+ years of industrial chemical manufacturing experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing or production
- Experience with inert atmosphere techniques (glovebox or Schlenk line)
- Experience transferring air-sensitive reagents (solid, liquid, gas)
- Experience with air-sensitive distillations
- Experience with reactor and glassware systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic equipment troubleshooting skills
- Experience in regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with hazardous materials packaging and customer-ready chemical filling operations
- Experience with chemical scale-up or process development
