Production Cell Manager

Job Summary

Lead daily operations for the Frame 6B Auxiliary Skid Refurbishment Production Cell, directing activities from equipment receipt through final testing and shipment. Develop weekly production priorities to meet customer delivery schedules while managing resources to maximize labor efficiency and throughput. Oversee all refurbishment phases including disassembly, mechanical and electrical repairs, fabrication, and functional testing. Provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team of supervisors and technicians, ensuring work complies with engineering drawings and safety standards. Monitor production progress, remove barriers impacting schedule or quality, and resolve technical manufacturing issues. Maintain ownership of production cost, labor hours, and project execution while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education
  • Eight years of manufacturing, overhaul, or industrial equipment refurbishment experience
  • Five years of leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • Experience managing complex refurbishment or repair projects involving mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience managing cost, scope, schedule, and production performance
  • Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain
  • Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience with GE Frame 6B gas turbine auxiliary systems
  • Experience refurbishing gas turbine lube oil, fuel gas, hydraulic, atomizing air, cooling water, seal oil, or starting system skids
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (preferred)
  • ERP experience using SAP, Oracle, IFS, or equivalent manufacturing software
  • Experience with pressure testing and functional testing of auxiliary equipment
  • Knowledge of industrial piping systems, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, filtration systems, instrumentation, and electrical control systems
